Podia Vs 2M

podia-vs-competition

Sharing knowledge, teaching people, coaching, and similar other things has become one of the best ways to earn money on the Internet. There are a lot of things to go about this.

Blogging is the most popular form of blogging. It is almost as old and well-known as the Internet itself. Although some believe that vlogging is its younger cousin, blogging has not lost its appeal. However, there are still people who love to read the content they’re interested in and not just videos.

Video essays are another way to learn about videos. These short video presentations can offer a lot of insight into certain topics especially when talking about music, literature, film, or arts in general.

Education is also becoming more popular thanks to video lectures and tutorials. I remember back in school, especially when Math is the subject, my classmates and I would often search tutorials on youtube to solve specifically confusing word problems.

Growing up, it was such a novel way to educate and learn. It seemed like once again, the knowledge was able to spread wider and was more accessible to a lot more audience.

It was only a matter time before formal education and education would also be available online.

Then there it was, the Course building websites have come.podia-logo

For those of you who prefer a more visual experience, here is a video review from Legit Marketing Reviews’ YouTube channel. Do check out our article below, however, because it has a comprehensive overview of Podia.

Course Building Websites Podia Vs 2M

Learning Management Systems, also known as course building websites, are platforms, services or websites that provide digital content to a targeted audience.

These websites even allow learning to be done remotely. While LMS can be used for remote or distance learning, it isn’t the only one capable of this. Distance learning has been a thing since 1924. Podia Vs 2M

Therefore, to be more precise, LMS is basically distance learning through the internet. LMS can either be hosted locally or via a vendor. Cloud hosting is a common method used by most vendors to host learning materials and courses. This is a SaaS (Software as a Service) model.

Learning Management Systems especially gained popularity during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic as face-to-face and regular school learning became impossible and impractical due to isolation and social distancing measures put in place by different governments across the world.

Ever since then, LMS websites and vendor sites seem to be here for good. A lot of these websites that have long existed are now becoming household names due to their popularity and usage during the pandemic.

New websites are also popping up, creating buzz and trying their hand at being the next big thing.

These sites all share the same goal of creating and learning courses on the best platform, but some specialize in specific areas.

Podia an Overview

Podia is an online Learning Management System. It claims to be all-in-one. You can either sell individual courses, coaching, webinars or digital downloads online, or all of them together.

It is probably the most affordable LMS plan. It is a great choice for course creators who are searching for an affordable LMS solution. It is affordable and allows you to create unlimited courses and products, which are great for digital product sellers.

Podia website builder is very simple and there is no coding required. Thus, it is a perfect fit for those who are in a rush and just want to get their courses or digital products out there. However, it does not sacrifice customization.

It is for this reason that there are a lot of users who think that Podia is a bit too rigid and restricting when designing websites. It is only expected as its website builder does not need coding.

For some features that are lacking, Podia offers a wide range of integrations. It allows you to add various email service providers, payment gateways and analytics tools to your website, from Zoom to Zapier.

Podia Features

Podia provides many features that enable users to create websites and personalize them in their own way. It also offers enough tools to conduct your business.

Podia is probably the most affordable LMS website. It has the best integration and membership communities. You can even get it on all Podia plans.

Talking about plans, except for the free one, every tier on Podia’s subscription doesn’t take transaction fees from any of your purchases. That means, whatever you sell, the money is all yours. Podia Vs 2M

  • Interface – Podia’s interface is a minimalistic and sleek UI that greets you when you log in. It is very simple and intuitive that you can access most features mostly within just three clicks. Podia’s interface is simple and intuitive.
  • Course Creation – Podia supports course creation with text, quiz, coaching and files. It does not support all lesson types, so it may be slower than the competition.

This is where Podia’s Embed feature comes in clutch, with over 1900+ platforms to embed from like Youtube, Soundcloud and even TikTok. Podia allows you to drip content/lessons, so that you can move them around in any way you like.

Overall, it has a superb course creation feature, but the lack of retention reports keep it from being perfect.

  • Marketing – Podia’s marketing features allows for email marketing, however it is a very basic email marketing tool that allows you to send broadcasts and email campaigns. It does not have email templates, and it doesn’t offer automation or personalization options.

Podia also offers other marketing features such as the ability to upsell your products, to giveaway coupons to potential customers, and even to pre-launch courses to drum up interest before really going all in.

All in all, Podia’s marketing platform is more than enough to boost the potency of your sales. The only thing that really lets it down is the absence of advanced automation. But that is to be expected of a basic platform like Podia.

  • Podia is most vulnerable in this area. While they offer a decent number of customization options, It really isn’t that “customizable”. Most of the things you can do are only about the texts and colors. Podia Vs 2M

There are very few templates available. It lacks HTML/Custom CSS customization. While at first this may seem like a bad thing, there are those who would prefer it that way. {Non-techies would probably not notice and would prefer the ease of use.|The ease of use would be preferred by non-techies.

  • Payment Processors – For Payment Processors, Podia integrates Stripe and Paypal for collecting payment from your students. Podia also does not take any transaction fees for any transactions or sales you make with your website.

However, Stripe and Paypal might charge additional fees. You still need to pay them. Usually these fees are very low so you probably won’t have a problem with them.

Cons

  • Email Composer does not offer personalization options. It even lacks pre-made templates, a drag and drop editor and split-testing.
  • Podia’s system does not have a course-compliance feature. The most common report that you will get is the number of people who have completed a course. It lacks details.
  • Podia has very limited customization options. Podia does not support custom CSS/HTML customizations
  • To create sales funnels and landing pages, you might need third-party apps or services such as WordPress or ClickFunnels.

  • Affiliate program is also lacking. Affiliate-specific commissions are not available.

Podia versus Kajabi

Kajabi an Overview

Kajabi is a Learning Management System that provides the user an all-in-one platform to create courses and products while at the same time hosting them.

It is also very advanced, with a lot of features such as automation that the platform is perfect for course creators and marketers who already have the experience in the field. To fully utilize Kajabi’s capabilities, users need to have technical knowledge.

Kajabi also allows you to sell coachings, memberships, communities, podcasts as well as other digital products.

Unlike most LMS, Kajabi has a mobile app, given that phones have become the preferred device to use by almost everyone, this really gives it a boost in the market.

Kajabi Features

Kajabi also offers a lot of features to ensure that their higher price point is worth every cent that you pay for. Kajabi’s website builder and many other features are highly customizable.

Marketing tools are probably the best area where Kajabi shines. It offers all the standard bells and whistles but what investors and Kajabi’s rivals really envy is its automation system. Yes, that’s correct! Kajabi provides automation in many of its features, including their email.

One more thing that is unique to Kajabi is its Pipelines. Kajabi’s Pipelines offer many benefits that can be used to replace ClickFunnel or other website funnel-building tools.

  • Interface – Logging into Kajabi will bring you to the dashboard. It is clean and minimalistic with minimal clutter. It has a modern, minimalist aesthetic. It is also easy to use. All of Kajabi’s features can be accessed in as little as 3 to 5 clicks.

Kajabi’s homepage also includes a search assistant that can help you navigate the site whenever you are lost or just too lazy to click on stuff. This will redirect you to the Kajabi App’s features and tools.

Kajabi’s page loads very quickly and provides a smooth experience.

  • Course Creation – Kajabi’s course creator is extremely robust. First of all, it allows you to make different types of categories. This flexibility allows you to choose the best option depending on which course you are presenting to students.

You can choose from: mini-courses, online courses, drip courses, or do a custom one of your own. Kajabi offers templates or blueprints to help you create your courses. It already gives you a “skeleton” of the course, and all you have to do is fill it up with content.

Kajabi allows you to organize your course in categories or subcategories. That way, you can decide how you present these courses to your students. This is particularly useful if you are slowly introducing your content.

As for content, Kajabi allows you to use the following to make your courses: text, audio, vidoe, assessments, images and files. These content can be combined and added to a single course. As of the moment, Kajabi does not offer live lessons.

As for the student’s side. Kajabi’s course delivery offers a sleek and minimal design. Your students will not be distracted by clutter.

  • Marketing – Kajabi provides all the products you need to sell your products. It allows you to sell coupons, upsells, and order bumps. This stuff can be customized to give you more value for money.

Email marketing is probably where Kajabi stands out the most. You can send broadcasts and email sequences using this tool. Kajabi’s email marketing also provides you with various email templates. Podia Vs 2M

Kajabi can send any type of email, no matter what it is. However, Kajabi’s email marketing really gets powerful when you combine it with an automation function.

It makes your job easier and faster. It opens up a lot of options too. Kajabi makes it easy to use third-party sales funnels. They got you covered with their pipelines that you can customize as well.

When used properly and effectively, it will increase your customer conversion rate leading to more sales. Podia Vs 2M

  • Kajabi offers a wide range of design and customization options. Even the lowest plans offer a variety of themes you can choose to match your brand or course. These themes look professional.

If you wish, you can upload your own theme. If you pay for the highest plan Kajabi offers, then you will be given access to their code editor where you can even customize the most minute details.

As for the Page Builder, Kajabi allows you to design course pages, membership site, checkout pages, landing pages and even more. They also utilize a block system and each block can be customized. They are page-specific and function-specific.

  • For Payment Processing, Kajabi unfortunately does not have its own native payment gateway. It integrates Stripe, PayPal and other third-party integrations. Some regions even have more gateways available.

For those regions that don’t have integration, third-party integration can be used through Webhooks and Zapier.

As for the checkout page, Kajabi offers it in a single page. That said, this single page can be customized to add sales videos and testimonials to further upsell your products.

Kajabi Price

It is robust and features-rich. Kajabi offers the best rates of all LMS services on the internet. They also do not offer a free trial. It has also become a common practice to include names for the different tiers that their plans have.

Kajabi offers the Basic, Growth, and Pro plans. All plans include access to Kajabi University. This knowledge base is Kajabi’s own and can be used to assist users with its functionality.

Podia versus Teachable

Teachable an Overview

Teachable is one of the most popular online courses platforms. This LMS can be used by teachers, course creators, coaches, and entrepreneurs to teach as well as for business. You can even sell these courses, and coaching in a single bundle

Teachable’s greatest strength is its course compliance feature. This feature is mostly missing from most LMS and online course platforms. If they do have this feature, it will probably be lacking or not as advanced or robust.

Teachable offers advanced reports about student progress and video analytics to demonstrate student engagement.

Teachable does not require integration to access its payment gateways. Instead, they can choose their own system. It also handles EU/VAT, making your life easier and that of your European Students.

Teachable is also one of the most affordable LMSs available. Teachable even has a free plan that allows one course to be sold. Though it does come with its own limitations. This plan is free and can be extremely useful if you are just starting out.

Teachable Features

  • Interface – Teachable’s interface looks very modern and is quite neat. Most features can be accessed through the right sidebar. It may take three to four clicks to get to sub-features.

Although it does not include a search function, this is due to how easy it is for users to navigate from one option to the next.

Teachable’s pages load slower than other LMSs, but this is not noticeable and I wouldn’t have noticed it if I wasn’t actively comparing websites.

  • Course Creation – As for course creation proper, Teachable does not provide templates or pipelines for you to use. Such set-up can be very difficult especially for those newer at designing websites.

Courses or Content are also divided into sections and lectures found inside each section. You can choose to use text, video, files or quizzes.

These files can be combined into one lecture. For example, you could add a quiz to a video lecture. This might seem a hassle to set-up at first, but Teachable has a bulk upload feature that allows you to put up your files faster.

Once uploaded, these files will become individual lectures themselves.

Teachable allows you to schedule drip delivery. This means that your content can be dripped depending on the time your student enrolled. That said, this feature only drips sections and not lectures. Podia Vs 2M

Then there is the course player, which has a neat feature of allowing students to add personal notes, for them to use while learning. One downside however, is that to customize this player, you need to use the power editor.

People who don’t know how to code could find themselves in this situation.

Also something to take note is Teachable’s Course Compliance Feature. This is the area where Teachable stands out from the rest. With this feature, you are able to control how the students view and consume your lectures.

From deciding the lecture order to making sure they watch the whole video lecture. You can even use quizzes as a checkpoint before they can proceed or pass a lecture.

The results can then be passed on the various detailed reports you can get from Teachable, which is another tool that you can use to effectively teach your students.

  • Marketing – Teachable provides basic marketing features like free previews, coupons and pre-selling courses. These features function in the same way as the LMS marketing features, and serve the same purpose: to encourage others to purchase your products.

Teachable offers basic email marketing features. However, it lacks some key features such as sequences, templates and automations.

Teachable does not have an affiliate program. You will need to create affiliates by yourself. It does however allow you to create affiliates for your product.

The website will handle the commissions of these affiliates through Teachable’s very own payment gateways. Podia Vs 2M

  • Design and customization – Teachable is not very customizable in terms of the overall theme. You can only choose one theme. The only thing you can customize is the logo, branding, fonts, background color, and theme.

smiling-man

> > Click Here to Check Out Podia < <

That said, paying for the business plan will give you access to its power editor wherein you can use custom code that allows you to further modify the theme of your page.

The page builder proper is more customizable than expected. They provide you with several building blocks depending on your needs. They even include block layouts for banners, images with text, email. And even pricing for your products.

Like the themes, you can also use CSS/HTML to code in stuff to personalize your website more.

  • Payment Processors – Teachable is among the only LMS services that has their very own Payment Gateway. There are two payment options: Monthly Payment Gateway and Teachable Payments. The former is a godsend to EU students as they can handle EU/VAT calculations.

Teachable has a “Back Office”, which handles all affiliate payouts. Sadly, if you want to use the good old Stripe and PayPal services, you would need to be on their professional plan or higher.

Teachable Payment Processors simplify the payment and checkout process for customers and students.

Teachable price

Teachable offers four plans in total if we count the free one. Like the others, these plans differ in accessibility and features. To ensure which plan is for you, we have placed what they offer in each price point. That said, you can try the free plan, which acts as a free trial to test Teachable’s environment.

Cons

  • Their free plan lacks a lot of feature to even call it a plan
  • Basic plan charges a 5% fee for your sales
  • They do not use a drag and drop builder. Instead, they use custom CSS and power editors. This is bad news to non-techies
  • Lacks a proper community feature
  • You would need to know how to code in order to fully customize their course player
  • When issuing refunds, you would need to avail of third-party services.

Podia versus Thinkific

Thinkific an Overview

Thinkific is another LMS service that puts course building at the forefront. You can create a website and then start building your courses.

It is easy to use, making it one of the best online course creators. It is so user-friendly that Thinkific offers a free plan which allows you to create up to three courses with no investment. Granted, they do take a transaction fee.

Thinkific is the “go to platform” for online courses.

Thinkific’s core focus is on its curriculum creation capabilities. This is why the course creation features are the most important.

However, this means that their marketing and selling aspects are not that good.

Useful Features

  • Interface – Logging in to Thinkific will take you to the admin area. This will be your hub that allows you to navigate the whole Thinkific Platform.

You can access all features that Thinkific offers via the sidebar. These features are usually found and organized in a logical way. There are some features though that might be found in places you don’t think that they should be in.

Overall, the thinkific interface may be decent, but there are parts where it feels clunky and unoptimized.

  • Course Creation – Thinkific’s greatest strength is found on its course creation mechanism. You have many options to make your course enjoyable, even if you don’t pay for it.

Thinkific’s platform lets you use many media types, including videos, pdf, audio and Google Docs. You can also create storylines and captures. Thinkific also allows you to bulk upload your contents. You will need to organize each lesson separately to make the bulk upload work.

Thinkific allows you to drip-feed your content, allowing you to manage and pace your course. Podia Vs 2M

While it does not have a course compliance option like that of Teachable, Thinkific allows you to incentivize your students by using awards, leaderboards as well as scoring to motivate them in finishing your course.

Thinkific also allows you to manage your course in different ways. You can also manage discussions, answer students’ questions, and approve or deny discussions.

You can also manage assignments and quizzes with Thinkific.

  • Marketing – This is where Thinkific is weakest. Their marketing features are limited to the essentials. What’s worse is that it might only be limited to a certain tier or higher.

Thinkific offers course bundles that can be used to create a membership website.

Thinkific also lacks a sales funnel builder and as such, you will need to use integration. Even then, the whole checkout is a bit clunky with limited customization.

Thinkific’s email marketing is also severely limited. Your marketing emails can only be sent to students already enrolled in your courses. As such, the best you can do is to tell them about new courses or products as well as send the email updates.

Thinkific also allows you to add affiliates to promote your courses and products. The best part of it is that it allows you to select how many percent commission you can offer.

Affiliates will have their own dashboard that allows them to track the performance of each unique affiliate link. However, the affiliate tracking pixel cannot be changed and is permanently set to 30 days.

  • Design and Customization – Thinkinfic has a decent level of customizability. They offer three themes to choose from. Then, you can choose from the three themes to create your theme styles. These styles can be thought of as presets that allow you to choose your site’s aesthetic.

However, they are not as customizable as Kajabi. Thinkific also allows you to import developer coded themes. You can customize your themes with code if you have the technical knowledge.

Thinkific also offers a drag-and-drop page builder. Each block in this builder is called a “section” and there are 20. It’s very simple to use, and you can add sections to your page in just one click. Podia Vs 2M

  • Payment Processors – Thinkific has their own payment processor called Thinkific Payments. This tool is part of the TCommerce suite. This tool offers seamless shopping, subscriptions and payment plans.

This is not available in Canada, the UK and the USA. Outside of those regions, Stripe and Paypal integrations are the other alternatives.

The Thinkific Price

Thinkific offers four plans, including a free one. Their free plan is one of the best as it give you the most features only being limited to the number of courses you can make and sell with them.

Thinkific also offers a Growth option that provides more powerful tools to their Pro plan. Other than that, they also offer Thinkific Plus for enterprise clients.

The Verdict Podia Vs 2MPodia Vs 2M

With all those laid out in hand, we can finally see how Podia compares to other Learning Management Systems. This will help you find the best platform for your courses, products, and businesses.

Verdict: Podia versus Kajabi

Podia and Kajabi function pretty similarly as they are both all-in-one platforms. Choosing one or the other comes down to two factors: price and customizability. Podia Vs 2M

Podia is the best choice if you are looking for an all-in-one platform that’s affordable and doesn’t require much customization. An important thing to note is that, in its low price point, Podia allows you to upload an unlimited number of courses.

You should choose Kajabi if budget is not a question and you would prefer a more personal touch. Kajabi offers advanced automation and automation for marketing that will make it easier to update your customers and market to them.

Verdict: Podia versus Teachable

This matchup is much more difficult to compare to the one above. Teachable and Podia specialize in different things and as such, your choice would depend on your business’ direction.

If you are looking to sell digital products such as memberships, coachings and courses, Podia is the right choice. As such, Podia would better fit your needs.

You should choose Teachable if you want to focus more on the “course” and “teaching” part. Teachable offers a stronger course-building platform than Podia. Also, Teachable’s greatest and most unique feature is its course compliance which helps to properly monitor your student’s course completion.

Verdict: Thinkific versus Podia

This is a simple statement that Thinkific is essentially a cheaper version Teachable. As such, picking between the two would be the same as choosing between Podia or Teachable.

If you want to sell your digital products, Podia is the right choice. Podia also has a more robust marketing tool compared to Thinkific, so that would be a plus for some people.

You should choose Thinkific if you would rather focus on making courses, but you don’t want to pay Teachable’s high prices. Though their plan is more limited, Thinkific can be used to learn how to make online courses. Bear in mind, Thinkific has no course compliance feature and puts focus on a more positive and incentivized motivation. Podia Vs 2M
